About Kim

Kimberley (Kim) Allen-McGill is a life-long musician and singer with more than 30 years of teaching experience.  After a long and successful career in corporate communications and public relations, and raising a family, Kim realized her dream of FINALLY dedicating herself to music and teaching piano and voice on a full-time basis in her Silver Cadence Music studio. Kim's studio was originally located in Findlay Creek.  In June of 2022, she and her family downsized and moved to Orleans.  She is eager to meet friends and students in the Cardinal Creek community.

Kim is in her element when teaching others to play and sing their own song.  Music lessons should be fun, and the learning opportunities are endless, she says!

In addition to teaching, Kim works as part-time Director of Music and Choral Director at an Ottawa church, and accepts bookings for Christmas caroling parties, funerals, weddings and other celebrations.  (A fun fact:  Kim is married to Santa Claus and the Easter bunny!)

In pre-pandemic times, Kim enjoyed volunteering extensively in the community.  Here's some of her former and usual activities:

  • Ottawa-Carleton District School Board Volunteer (Music Specialist) for many years.  Musical Miss Kim at Elizabeth Park Public School in 2017.  A short term music class volunteer with the clarinet section at Vimy Ridge Public School!
  • The FROGs Boomer Rock and Roll and Praise Band – Kim plays in this 7-piece band (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals) plays at community events, coffee houses, and church fundraisers. The Band has donated approximately $7K to Cornerstone Housing for Women.
  • National Executive for Music United (www.musicunited.ca) and Convenor for Eastern Ontario Outaouais Regional Council (https://eoorc.ca/) - The United Church of Canada 2017-2021.
