Kimberley (Kim) Allen-McGill is a life-long musician and singer with more than 30 years of teaching experience. After a long and successful career in corporate communications and public relations, and raising a family, Kim realized her dream of FINALLY dedicating herself to music and teaching piano and voice on a full-time basis in her Silver Cadence Music studio. She is eager to meet friends and students in the Findlay Creek community.
Kim is in her element when teaching others to play and sing their own song. Music lessons should be fun, and the learning opportunities are endless, she says!
In addition to teaching, Kim works as part-time Director of Music and choral director at a small church in Ottawa South, and accepts bookings for Christmas caroling parties, funerals, weddings and other celebrations. (A fun fact: Kim is married to Santa Claus and the Easter bunny!)
She also volunteers extensively:
- Ottawa-Carleton District School Board Volunteer (Music Specialist) for many years. Musical Miss Kim at Elizabeth Park Public School in 2017. See you at Vimy Ridge Public School in September!
- The FROGs Boomer Rock and Roll and Praise Band – Kim plays in this 7-piece band (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals) plays at community events, coffee houses, and church fundraisers. The Band has donated approximately $7K to Cornerstone Housing for Women.
- Ottawa-Montreal Convenor of Music United: The United Church of Canada (national organization for United Church musicians)
